At the Pietralata’s Lanificio, Collettivo Chiaroscuro’s Presentation Party

On 29 of June, the presentation event for our Association was held in Rome, marking our first public outing with over 300 guests in attendance. The evening at the Pietralata’s Lanificio was organised into three moments:

At 7 pm was the meeting with the members of the Collective: after so many virtual meetings, there was a need to meet in person and exchange opinions face-to-face.

This was followed by a meeting with students from cinema schools such as Istituto Rossellini, Gian Maria Volonté, Roma Film Academy, RUFA, IED, Laboratorio di Arte Cinematografica, Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, Shot Academy, and NABA. As our president Paolo Carnera wrote in his “letter,” from the very beginning of our newly formed association, we wanted it to be clear that our focus is on young people and on the future by sharing our experiences, to continually stimulate the creativity of our cinema.

Finally, an open party was held with cinematographers who are not members of our Collective, as well as colleagues from other categories, along with directors, actors (including Paolo Genovese, Giulia Michelini, Tommaso Donadoni, Michele Riondino, and Vinicio Marchioni), our suppliers, and our collaborators. Since Cinema is an art that is born from the collaboration of everyone on set, we wanted to affirm the desire to continue this dialogue even off the set, to improve our pre-production work in films and series and to achieve our future projects in deep harmony.
