On 6 June, at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the Giornalisti Cinematografici Italiani presented the awards across the various sections of the Nastri Grandi Serie. Among the winners, a significant number of works shot by directors of photography associated with the Collettivo Chiaroscuro.
Sandokan, directed by Jan Maria Michelini and Nicola Abbatangelo, received the Nastro d’Argento Internazionale; congratulations to the three directors of photography who shot it, all CCS members: Valerio Evangelista, Alessandro Pesci, Mirco Sgarzi.
Il mostro (Netflix), directed by Stefano Sollima, wins the award in the Crime section; congratulations to Paolo Carnera CCS, President of the Collettivo Chiaroscuro. You can find our interview on the first season of Il mostro here.
La Preside (Rai), directed by Luca Miniero and shot by cinematographer Francesco Di Pierro CCS, not only wins in the Best Dramedy category but is the single most voted title overall by the cinema journalists. Congratulations to Francesco Di Pierro for his contribution to this success.
We also note the Best Leading Actress award to Carolina Crescentini for Mrs Playmen, a series shot by DoP Federico Schlatter CCS, Vice President of the Collettivo. Find our interview with Federico Schlatter here.
The title of “Series of the Year” had already been awarded previously to Portobello, by Marco Bellocchio. Congratulations to Francesco Di Giacomo CCS, who was responsible for its cinematography.
