Collettivo Chiaroscuro’s presence at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival also extends to short films. Four shorts shot by CCS cinematographers have been selected for Orizzonti Corti, SIC@SIC and Giornate degli Autori.
Andrea Benjamin Manenti CCS is the cinematographer of two short films appearing in two different sections. Angelo Azzurro (My First Day of Summer), directed by Tommaso Acquarone, has been selected for Orizzonti Corti and will be presented on 10 September. Manenti also shot Sara Scalera’s Puca, selected for SIC@SIC, the Venice International Critics’ Week programme dedicated to Italian short films.

The same section also features Se mai le cose by Giulia Cosentino, with cinematography by Camilla Cattabriga CCS, scheduled to screen on 9 September.

At Giornate degli Autori, Blues Baby Boy by Andrea Simonella, with cinematography by Lorenzo Pezzano CCS, was presented as part of the Bullying and Support Networks event, held on 5 September.

Four works and three cinematographers from Collettivo Chiaroscuro testify to the vitality of the short-film format and to the ability of our members to engage with different visual languages, stories and production contexts.
