We are delighted with the success of Il ragazzo dai pantaloni rosa (The Boy with the Pink Trousers) by Margherita Ferri, the most-watched film in cinemas and the highest-grossing release of the 2024 season. Cinematography by Martina Cocco, CCS. Read an interview with Martina here.
Presented at the latest edition of the Rome Film Festival, in the Alice nella città section, the film tells the story of Andrea Spezzacatena, a boy who took his own life at the age of 15 after experiencing bullying. The film has been widely seen by students through screenings organised for schools, showcasing how cinema can be a powerful tool to address universal, timely, and essential themes.
Among its latest accolades is the Virna Lisi Special Award “for a work that explores a crucial theme with sensitivity and depth, giving a voice to those who are often left unheard. An invitation to reflect, turning cinema into a powerful tool for audience awareness.” At the Professional Cinema Days in Sorrento, the film also received a MIUR Golden Ticket, the CIPS ‘Cinema for Schools’ Award, and the SIAE Golden Ticket for the director.
