The Art of Italian Cinematography and Beyond

It’s awards season for Daria D’Antonio CCS, who has received the Nastro d’Argento as well as the Quarzo dei Giovani and Quarzo del Pubblico at Le Giornate della Luce in Spilimbergo

The Nastro d’Argento awards have been announced, and the award for Best Cinematography goes to Daria D’Antonio CCS for *Parthenope* by Paolo Sorrentino. This marks another significant achievement for D’Antonio, following her David di Donatello for *The Hand of God*, and further confirms her deep connection with Sorrentino’s visual universe.
Sunday 15 June also saw the close of the 11th edition of *Le Giornate della Luce*, the Spilimbergo-based festival dedicated to highlighting the work of cinematographers. Here too, D’Antonio was honoured for her work on *Parthenope*, which won over both the Young Jury – composed of students from Italian and European schools and universities – and the general audience, who awarded her the Quarzo del Pubblico. A double recognition that affirms the power of her gaze and the emotional depth she conveys through her images.

The Quarzo di Spilimbergo – Light Award was presented to Carlos Alfonso Corral for *I Dannati* by Roberto Minervini, while Fabio Cianchetti received the Quarzo d’Oro for Lifetime Achievement.
