The twelfth edition of Le Giornate della Luce, the festival dedicated to the cinematographers of Italian cinema, is currently underway in Spilimbergo and will conclude on 14 June. Among the most eagerly anticipated events of the festival is the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to Giuseppe Lanci AIC, to whom we extend our warmest congratulations and best wishes.
This year’s programme once again features a significant presence of members of the Collettivo Chiaroscuro.
Among the highlights of the official selection is Paolo Carnera CCS, nominated for the festival award for his cinematography in Fuori by Mario Martone, alongside Marco Graziaplena for Duse and Gianfranco Rosi for Sotto le nuvole.
Also featured in the programme is Daria D’Antonio CCS with Primavera, Damiano Michieletto’s film on Antonio Vivaldi (read our interview with Daria about the film here). On Sunday 14 June, Daria D’Antonio will also present the award for Best Cinematography in a Debut Feature to Lorenzo Mancini and Vincenzo Pezone for Tienimi presente by Alberto Palmiero, and will lead a discussion with the award winners.
Alongside the screenings, the festival devotes considerable attention to professional development and education. Among the guests leading the masterclasses is Maura Morales Bergmann CCS, who has been invited to share insights into her artistic and professional journey.
