The Art of Italian Cinematography and Beyond

Season 2 – Episode 1 Paolo Carnera

From the first portraits taken during his medical studies to the pivotal encounter with Carlo Di Palma in his third year at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, Paolo Carnera takes us through the early stages of his photographic journey—a journey that led him to collaborate with some of the most important Italian directors (Winspeare, Virzì, Rubini, D’Innocenzo, Sollima, Martone, Garrone, to name just a few) and to significant international experiences (Zonca, Baharani, Greenaway). Paolo is one of the founding members of the Chiaroscuro Collective and its first President.

This episode is sponsored by ADCOM, which has confidently provided excellent direct sound recording equipment to a collective of cinematographers who can barely adjust the volume on their TV.
