The Art of Italian Cinematography and Beyond

We reproduce the statement on artificial intelligence from the AMC, the Association of Mexican Cinematographers

The Collettivo Chiaroscuro association is deeply interested in monitoring the transformations that the introduction of artificial intelligence into filmmaking techniques and workflows will bring to the field of cinematography. In this regard, we believe it is important to translate and share a statement issued by the Mexican association AMC.

“The cinematographers of the AMC, on behalf of the entire professional community we represent, reject the use of artificial intelligence in the recent commercial produced by Revolver for Santander Mexico. How can one expect to connect with clients through artificial and poorly made representations of themselves? AI cannot and must not replace the work of thousands of professionals. Our craft matters. Our image is not expendable.
The AMC raises its voice in support of an ethical, human, and future-oriented industry.” (20 June 2025)
